I would like some feedback from the neighborhood on skateboarders. How much of a detriment are they to the neighborhood as a whole and to what lengths should we go to either discourage their gathering or find a meeting place that they can gather that would be more easily monitored.

Also, is there another issue like this in the neighborhood that may need more attention?

As you know, I am directly affected by the skateboarders as I have had to replace several boards in my fence from damage they have done. What used to be 3 or 4 kids is now as many as 20! I am concerned what it will be like this summer and can see it escalating into a place to hang out after dark.

I just wanted to add another comment to this thread. On Wednesday I attended a meeting held specifically for community input on park development and one of the things that came up was the creation of more numerous and more localized skate parks. We'll see what comes of that meeting.
