Assoc. Meeting - No quorum

Posted in: NW Crossing
For the first time in 20+ years, the associations annual meeting didn't have a quorum. Only 120+ of the 170+ attended. Reasons for this? Association is doing a good job and there are no complaints? No interest? Too busy? Bad day/time? Didn't receive information as to when/where?

No Quorum? How could you vote?

If there was no quorum, how could you have an election or vote on anything? Doesn''t sound official or even legal (if any voting was done). Or has another meeting been scheduled so that a legal quorum can be assembled to vote? Or was there a parliamentarian at the meeting who said that voting could be done, and, if so, who was that person or what was that person''s capacity on the Board?

Vote

I was at the meeting & voting was done. Parliamentarian? One of the secretaries from the Management company said we could vote. She said we could do it as long as noone complained and forced another vote. Don't think there were any plans to have another meeting until next year. Guess you'd have to call the management company to find out what gives.

Assoc. Meeting-No Qurom?

I've attended the annual meetings before and attended a few of the monthly meetings. The association has in the past not shown any interest in what's going on in my part of the neighborhood. Numerous calls to the Mgmt Co. have not offered much help either. Over here in the flatlands (The Meadows) things are rotting pretty fast: junk cars, poorly kept lawns, you name it.

I read the spring newsletter and see hope. The NEW members on the board are saying things we need to hear. Bet I'll be at more monthly meetings to if there's a way to put teeth into what's being said.

No reason to attend a meeting if nothing is going to improve. I do not think that the club houses and the pools are the only thing going. Get me some deed restriction enforcement and I'm there 100%

Simple.
