A coworker of mine was shopping for a house and looked at 2 here in the Parkwood subdivision. Knowing that i lived here he asked me what do we get for our yearly fees. It made me think, what do we get for our $200?
Security? 3 cars were broken in on our street in one night not to long ago; the lamps in the park are being replaced and the kids come along and break them again; Security? No
Swimming pool? Although I know most of our money is spent on the pool and the lifeguards, what does the average person get from it? We do not have kids and we want to use the pool some other time like in the evening after the kids are gone, or in the mornings, but we were told no, no lifeguards. I do not need a lifeguard. So Swimming pool, we do not benefit from. Landscaping or nice neighborhood? Looking at some of our neighbors yard or streets in front of it, apparently the rules are not enforced there neither so no benefit from it. Neither are the park maintained. The park was demolished during the storm in 1997 and has not been repaired since. So what do we get for our 200 dollars? A clubhouse that was voted on by people who no longer live here, we probably do not need, because we will get charged to use it anyway. So what do we get for our money?
Example: We have a small clean trailer we use occassionally, but each time the association was informed prior, yet we still received the harrassment letter. We set our thrashcan out the night before pickup and we received a harrassment letter. We call the association on the all those owners who run their businesses here in the divison, but we are told that it takes time to take action, but no firm answers. Is the money spent wisely? I like to know! U Huddleston
