In some of the streets in our neighborhood the number of street lights seem not to provide adequate lighting for driving at night or even walking the sidewalks in the evenings. Posted in Community Pages are some exerpts from the City's UDC, which althought it is not warranted as being perfect, is an attempt to reflect the rules for the city (CPS Energy) to provide (possibly) additional lights for your street.
Suggest anyone interested can call 311 and discuss these paragraphs of the UDC and see what luck you may have. Do not know what the response will be, but you may end up talking with other experts on the city's staff (maybe development services, for example) to see how to reach your goal.
Improved lighting could possibly help us cut crime, make it safer walking in the evenings, make it easier to see others when driving at night, etc.
Good luck!
