If my grass were as tall as the grass along the railroad track, I'd have someone breathing down my neck by now.

The overgrown area I am referring to is along the tracks between Beacon Hill and Alta Vista from Hollywood to Elsmere. The problem may be more widespread throughout our neighborhoods but I am most familiar with my area.

I've been calling Albert Ramos at Union Pacific everyday since Wednesday of this week. I left a message on his machine Wednesday and Thursday. No response. Finally this morning I get a hold of him. He has referred my call to Butch Miller. Only took him 3 days to refer my complaint to someone else. Wonder how long it will take Butch Miller to pass the buck.

In the meantime, Union Pacific's response was that these men are probably very busy. Was that their way of saying that cutting the grass in my neighborhood was not very important? It may not be important to them but it's important to me. Are we to allow Union Pacific's neglect to contribute to our neighborhood's wildlife problem, our neighborhood's dumping problem, and our neighborhood's crime problem?

Here's the Union Pacific/Southern Pacific contact numbers:

Albert Ramos 921-4072

Butch Miller 921-4065

UNION PACIFIC RESPONSE

Just received a response from Gilbert Dutchover of Union Pacific. He said Union Pacific will be in our neighborhood to mow along the railroad tracks by the end of next week or the following week.
