Then, he nominated himself president with the goal to keep it from serving the community. One comment he made was that he wanted to keep the authorities out of the neighborhood, and that he believed neighborhood associations were unconstitutional.
As a result of his and others' angry and threatening behavior, the board members that had worked diligently for seven years, making the neighborhood safer, cleaner and more beautiful, resigned. Some received death threats. Some of their homes were vandalized.
