Pima Rd...$$$maker

Pima

The last guy was right people did used to go really fast on Pima. It is a residential area and sometimes they ride horses there. The Ranchers don't like us very much if you have ever talked to any of them.

Photo radar on Pima

I agree that people do speed but even 25 is extreme. I would think that 35 is much more reasonable. There are not many house on that stretch of road and they have driveways big enough to get in and out of. Besides the ranchers that live along that road are some of the worst drivers on that stretch. I do think that the photo radar is a bit out of hand there. It would be much better served on Ironwood were I sometimes fear for my life on that road. If you go anywhere near the posted speed limit they pass you as if you are standing still.
Deaf child

Maybe you would not feel that way if it was YOU who had the deaf child. It is a RESIDENTIAL street in which case the speed limit should be 25. I am a speed demon, I whole heartedly admit, and even I can say that in an area where school buses drop off and pick up in the mornings and afternoon, that there are houses almost all the way down the road (until you get to the golf course, but even then they're on the north side of the road), and a deaf child lives in the immediate area that the speed limit should be 25. And if people weren't driving 50+, I am sure they wouldn't be so over zealous on the photo radar on that road. People fly on Ocotillo too in the 35 area which is why they put it there frequently as well. And they DO put them down Ironwood, I drive the road frequently and at least 2-3 days per week it is sitting on either the north or southbound side. Maybe if more people would join the Pinal Sheriff's Department the photo radar wouldn't be so widely used...any volunteers?
photo radar

I do recall after first moving here the Deaf Child sign but driving Pima today there was not a sign there anymore. I totally understand the speed limit if that was the case. I find it to be a little bit of an over kill when I go in and there are 2 photo radars on the 2 mile stretch of Pima road. I drive Ironwood everyday and can count on one hand how many times I have seen it there. I don't have any gripes with photo radar in general but would like it to be put to better use instead of targeting a little stretch of road. Another gripe is it being used at night. The flash alone is so dangerous. I have seen cars swerve because of the shock. Get them speeding just find another way at night.
