Santa Anita Neighborhood Association

Why we began

Home Depot was trying to move into Mike Daugherty Chevrolet's lot in 2003. The residents on Burgundy Way and Hernando would have been especially impacted by this move as would the whole neighborhood with increased traffic (people trying to bypass the Fulton-El Camino intersection). Home Depot has since purchased the lease of the old KMart location at Cottage and Howe, a move that the officers see as more appropriate. As of November, 2004, Home Depot says that they are not sure of their plans for that lot.

Why we continue

We met many of our neigbors from Brunton, Laredo and other streets and found we liked them. We want to continue the comaraderie and closeness that we found when we met in the Burgundy Cul-de-Sac. By planning social events throughout the year, we keep the lines of communication open so that if we face another issue, we are better able to join together and solve it to the improvement of the whole neighborhood.

When do we meet?

The officers meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 in the Howe Park Community Center. If you have something you think we should address, join us there or contact one of the officers.
