Arden ITS Meeting December

Monday, December 6 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM County/City staff will discuss the Arden Way ITS project. This project includes installing ITS technology in the roadway as well as changeable message signs. We will meet at St. Ignatus Church at 3235 Arden Way (between Watt and Morse). Attached are concerns raised at the meeting in October by the few residents who attended the city's meeting.

Concern include the EIR issues, increased auto and truck capacity projected with the new technology, the cost-benefit ratio for various items such as changeable message signs, level of improved service and reduced headway for RT and shuttles with ITS as contrasted to existing signal preemption technology (used now by medical and fire services), M and O costs to maintain, coordinate, and staff.. HOw will costs (capital and M. and O) be allocated to jurisdictions. Who pays?

Arden Arcade Community Alliance Dec 2004

Join the Arden Arcade Community Alliance elves at our December meeting when
we wrap gifts for the Sheriff's Toy Project. Bring an unwrapped gift for a
child 16 years old or younger and some holiday wrapping paper and ribbon. We
will donate our gifts and wrap ones that have already been earmarked for children
in our community who would not receive gifts without this community service
project. The Sheriff's department will supply the tape and sicssors.

Cindy Burdette, coordinator of the Toy Project for Arden Arcade, suggest the
following for older children: sweatshirts, cd's, gift certificates,
inexpensive jewelry, body spray, wallets, basketballs, footballs, etc......

After we wrap gifts, we will have the election of 2005 officers. The slate is
as follows:

President: Ardie Ferris
Vice President:
Treasurer: Peter Christensen
Secretary: Eva Hargraves
Members at Large: Lee Schaffer, Adele Kruger, Barbara Weiss

If you are interested in filling the vice president's position or running for
another office, please contact Allen Green at ATGreen1@aol.com

The Alliance meeting will be held at the Sheriff's Marconi Station, 2500
Marconi Avenue on December 14 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Arden Arcade Community Alliance Jan 2005

Happy New Year!! I am sending this message for Ardie Ferris, President of the
Arden Arcade Community Alliance for 2005. She has not had time to set up her
group list to send notices about Alliance meetings, what with the holidays
and all.

SMUD has announced plans to raise rates for the first time is many years. On
Tuesday, January 11, 2005, Howard Posner, SMUD representative for Ward 3
(Arden Arcade) will be the guest speaker at the Arden Arcade Community Alliance
monthly meeting. The meeting will be held at the Sheriff's Marconi Station
Community Room, 2500 Marconi Avenue beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Alliance membership dues for 2005 will be collected at the meeting. Annual
dues are $15.00. If you can't attend the meeting, please mail dues to: Arden
Arcade Community Alliance, c/o Arden Manor Recreation and Park District, 1415
Rushden Drive,
Sacramento, CA 95864.

The office of Alliance vice president is still vacant. This position
requires a commitment to support the president and step in when the president is not
available to run a meeting. The vice president is also the chair of the
nominating committee when it is time to select officers for 2006.
