I distributed a good amount of flyers for our Neighborhood Day at the Park. Anyone who has suggestions as to when and what we should do that day would be great!! Some of the suggestions I spoke about with some of the interested neighbors included, having west crescent firetrucks come over for the day for the kids, face paintings, we could rent a bouncy bounce for the day.. I've searched into the pricing of that..and believe it or not it's reasonable $192 for the day they'll come and set it up in the morning and pick it back up at 8:30-9 at night. The clipper magazine has a $10 coupon inside as well. Water Balloons and I know a lot of kids in the neighborhood have the Oozy Waterguns. For the adults we can do anything from utilizing our Tennis court and have matches that people sign up for, we could have a softball game, we have people that recommended bocce. Also a badmitten set could be of some use. We could plan for everyone to bring a dish if we want to have food involved or we could look into having Giffys come over for the day or if anyone would like to BBQ or cook for the day we could bring over a grill or two and grill ourselves.. the possiblities are endless!! Anyone who has a service they want to provide would be excellent! Promote your business or share your talents. The most important factor is that we enjoy our neighborhood as the exceptional community it is with the exceptional neighbors we have to share it with! This sounds like a great idea. My husband is a firefighter with the West Crescent Fire Dept. I am also a firefighter and the Secretary for the Company. When you come up with a date for this event, please feel free to contact us so we can get a firetruck and some members to come. Hi Emily, I love this idea. A great way to meet and get to know your neighbors. I would like to volunteer my husband to work a grill! And whatever services I can provide for the planning & day of please just let me know. As far as a date, Sundays would actually work better for us because Dixon works on Saturdays.
