Seems our neighborhood needs to refocus a bit on being responsible pet owners.  Please pick up after your dog when walking.  Just use a plastic bag, that you shove in your pocket before leaving the house, and after you clean up after your dog, knot the top of the bag and place it in an appropriate trash container.  And, dogs should always be leashed or in a fenced yard.  Leaving your dog run loose and/or not picking up after it, is actually in violation of the city's pet ordinance.

There seems to be an abundance of irresponsible pet owners in this area. Part of my yard is outside of the fence that runs the perimeter of my property. I find dog waste on a daily basis on this part of my lawn.

Probably because of this problem,  I've had many neighbors run out of their houses as my dog takes care of her business in their yards screaming at me to get my dog off of their property. I always show my bags and explain that I've never left a mess in a yard. As soon as I get home I add the house to my growing list of houses where I don't let my dog use the bathroom. One resident on Ash Street went as far as to say that he was calling the police to report me. I am considering driving my dog to George Rogers Clark Park for her daily walk as I am getting tired of the hostility in the neighborhood.
