We have a speeding issue of drivers using our street to bypass the main roads traffic. The will consistently drive 40 mph and we tried everything legal that we know. If anyone has any helpful info we would appreciate, our main worries are our children's safety.

Which neighborhood are you in?  I only ask because it showed up under the Lyons Will Rogers Park page.  I would contact the Community Action Agency at (405) 232-0199 or the Street Sign/Traffic Department at (405) 297-2535.  If it is a side street, they would most like post a speed limit sign (25 mph for residential neighborhoods) and post a "SLOW - CHILDREN AT PLAY" sign on the same post warning drivers of this.  I doubt they would allow a speed bump if it is a through street, but if you live in a cul-de-sac, they may consider it.  We  have this problem occasionally on my street as well since this street takes you to Grand and to an I-44 on-ramp.  I hope this helps you!

We have posted a "Slow down for childern" at our front entrance and it has helped.  the only other thing that we have done is call the police and ask them to have someone come out.  they sit down the street from the stop sign and gave out several tickets.

Not saying your incorect here to be concerned you should be. Your main concern here should be somone supervising the children at all times not speed bumps, all to often I see people are not supervising thier children leaving them unsupervised. I see Little Jonny and Jane playing outside in front of the house all by himself.. WOW this is not wise as they tend to not know better oor the fact that they can't be seen. Additionlay people just need slow down, just becuse its posted 20 MPH dosent meen you have to drive 20, a little consideration for the situation and maybe 10-15 MPH would be more prudent. What the diffrence will cost you 1-2 min in your comute time.  What happend to being good neighbor's and actuly caring for the other guys. Additionaly all to often we see it as the other guys fault, start being proactive and supervise... speed bumps are not the answer nor to spout of online socal meida.
