Yearly Neighborhood Meeting Minutes
1/5/05 6:30 p.m. - North Shelby County Library
Minutes Prepared By Ima Heim
1. Annual ORHA meeting. Board members in attendance: Mark Coby, Chris Perkins, Sandy Evers, and Ima Heim. Quorum was achieved through attendance and proxy.
2. Reviewed activities of 2004 --
Trees trimmed on 199 and front entrance redone.
Interest survey was completed.
Neighborhood website was created.
Directory was updated.
Spring and fall garage sales held.
Easter egg hunt and Halloween party and parade
Meetings held on possible convenience store.
Summer cookout held at Mark Coby?’s house.
Stop signs replaced and watch for children sigh placed.
Seven new babies were added to the neighborhood.
3. In the treasury report Chris reported that 56 homes out of 65 paid dues in 2004. Dues will remain at $35. In 2004 we changed form Colonial Bank to Compass.
4. Current concern was annexation. Either into Indian Springs, Pelham or leave alone. All voted to leave as is unless forced to choose.
5. Discussed how to take care of front entrance by a lawn service, hiring kids in neighborhood or creating a schedule of men in the neighborhood. The decision was to create a schedule of men. Those that volunteered were James Arrington, Mike Evers, Patrick Joseph, Bobby Watts, Donny Aktin, and Neil Jenson.
6. Discussed possible pressure washing wood on street signs and treating with a wood sealant. Decided it was not needed at this time.
7. Discussed problem with football parking. Maybe invest in signs for games saying ?“No Parking?” with orange cones to prevent parking. Need to get OMHS football schedule. Ask Shelby County to help with traffic.
8. Remind in news letter that parking on both sides of road is dangerous especially around the curves. Possible yellow stripping curve for no parking.
9. Continue in 2005 with parties and garage sales.
10. Election of new officers. All 2004 officers agreed to serve one more year. Mark - President, web, and newsletter, Ima ?– secretary, directory, Sandy Evers ?– social director, Linda Smith ?– printing of newsletter, Chris Perkins, ?– treasury, Mike Evers ?– landscaping.
11. First Board meeting will be held Monday 24th at 6:30.
12. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:00 p.m.
