Sherwood Village, in conjunction with the city of Southfield, is issuing a challenge too all kids and adults in the community. Help us read 1,000,000 books by September 2003 and Southfield could be entered into the Guinness Books of World Records. Lathrup Village residents can also participate. City Civic leaders launched the "Southfield Reads" program on October 17th. Cable 15 aired the program live to residents and area schools. It will also be replayed for those who missed the program. There are many ways to participate in Southfield Reads. To register, click onto http://southfieldreads.org. (A hot link is provided in the civic section below.) Acknowledge your affiliation with "Sherwood Village Community Association" when registering and logging the books you read onto the website. You can also volunteer time and get credit by reading to children in the Southfield schools. With everyone's help, Southfield will conquer this exciting challenge. Let's again show that Sherwood Village is the #1 sub-division when it comes to reading.
