Measure ''Y'' is supposed to address some of the defferred maintenance items; but it appears that many things are still be ing neglected or ''defferred''.

We finally got them to repair the field site wall where fence posts had broken out and was causing a hazard of being cut.

We finally got them to install a board at the bottom of the fence at the sand area where the swings are located to reduce the amount of sand that is blown or kicked onto the sidewalk creating a slipping hazard.

The PTA finally painted part of the site wall that had badly pealing paint. (The city grafitti department helped remove the loose paint by water blasting).

We expect measure ''Y'' to address roof repair, ceiling repair, plumbing repair issues as well as adding air conditioning, upgrading lighting, and new provision for computers in classrooms.

But, we still have other issues. One of them is an errosion problem at the south west corner of the school site (where the preschools play). The errosion is so bad that a dog can easily get under the fence. And every time it rains, the sand from the swing area washes down onto the sidewalk and handi-cap access ramp creating a slipping hazard for the public.

What can we do to solve these problems? What other repair issues are you conserned about? What about the cafeteria that is not used? What about the handball backboards that are full of large holes? What about the broken fence railings?

The School District will not fix things if it is not made clear that a safety hazard exists. (Lack of Money? Lack of Observation? or Lack of Priorities?)
