Over quite a lengthy period, Silver Oaks seemed to be overrun by skateboarders. There were a lot of angry homeowners and several calls were made to the Clark County Sheriff. During the February meeting, the issue was brought to a head.
It was recognized that the larger number of offenders was NOT from Silver Oaks, but from Sherwood Hills. Older kids from the Sherwood Hills area were congregating in front of a home on 110th Street, waiting for the youth inside to bring out his ramps. They also created a nuisance by making their own skate-boarding park in the cul de sac on 111th Circle.
As a result of the February 20th homeowners meeting, all were in agreement that there are to be no ramps, no waxing of curbs, no skateboard structures ?– period ?– in the area.
I am pleased to report that as a result of that meeting, there have been no further problems.
