gates/guards/hoa fees
I for one don't have much to complain about. Before I bought this house, I asked about the Guard station and was told there were no plans to hire a guard or security company. I also looked at many subdivisions across N. San Antonio and saw they did not have a guard either. I do know the gates off of Sonoma Pkwy have been working much more frequently than before ProComm. Not sure why there is such a angry attitude toward them.

gates/guards/hoa fees
consider yourself lucky to have had the info before. imagine if you were told a different story by the builder agent? i for one have been contacting pro-comm everytime the summit gates are acting wonky. mr tompkins deserves more of the credit, he is PROACTIVE. I still say keep him and fire pro-comm.
please read the comments from the smiths as well as the comments i posted previously, board of directors action/inaction/apathy/disinterest. if you are still unsure about the 'angry attitude' towards them, i'm sorry i can't help you understand. have a looksee at hausmanunited.org and see what has been going on since 01/01/06. email ron parks/kim barnfield and ask for the challenge the rezone material. then ask how sonoma ranch hoa/procomm mgmt did to help maintain and/or improve the quality of life in and around sonoma ranch.
which neighborhood do you live in? the meadows? springs? it could be said that some residents have higher customer service expectations than others and at the same time pro-comm is trying hard to redefine what customer service is to suit them and not the residents of sonoma ranch.

gates/guards/HOA fees
That could be the case (with regard to higher expectations). But I don't believe it should have anything to do with where someone lives. I have lived in SR since 2003 and have seen gates not working for very long periods (1-2 weeks at a time). I think the longest I've seen this over the last year or so has been 1-2 days.
I agree wholeheartedly about Lee's role--he has made a positive difference for us all.

so going back to the headline about the gates/guards/hoa fees.... you do realize gates are *NOT* present at every neighborhood entrance? and that the gates serve only as costly decoration as well as the guard station? and regardless of your home value, be it $200k or $650k, your hoa fee is the same? and the board is composed of at least 2 members who are ab galo employees...out of 3?
