I honestly don't understand why we continue to have speeders on Candelaria and Santa Ursula, in spite of the speed lumps, bumps, humps, whatever you wish to call them.  We spent our good money for these worthless things that don't work at all.  Still, I'd like to appeal to the residents of our community (and yes, it IS mostly the residents who are speeding) to please slow down to 25 MPH.

Please be respectful of the joggers, walkers, children and animals that may get loose and dart into the street.  I truly hope no one is hurt or run over, but, please think how you would feel if you hit and injured someone while speeding. That's something you carry with you for life and it's NOT pleasant.

Please, slow down. You are not saving more than a few seconds, if that. Gee, what will you do with those extra 3 seconds? :-)

I agree with you, there shouldn't be any motorists speeding through the neighborhood. It is our responsibility to drive safely and keep our speed at no  higher than 25mph. However there shouldn't be any loose joggers, children or pets darting into the street.

Joggers should stay on the side-walks, children should play in their own backyards and pets should remain behind a fence or on a leash.

Parents are obligated to protect the safety of their own children and pet owners are responsible for the safety of their pets. We must remember that streets are NOT playgrounds.

We all have responsibilities and obligations when it comes to safety and PREVENTION is key. It is much easier to control our children and our pets than trying to control reckless drivers.

In order to make any changes, we must start by "looking at the man in the mirror".
