South Side Pride Make It Known Citywide. South Side Community Action Network is "Helping Neighbors Help Each Other."
To become a member: A person must live in a property within SouthSide Community Action Network's boundaries; work in a sponsoring or supporting business within SouthSide Community Action Network's boundaries; be active in a church within SouthSide Community Action Network's boundaries. Dues are $12.00 per year per household. Members are expected to volunteer their talents, time and passion.
SouthSide Community Action Network members voted to have their civic association begin the process to become an area commission. Meetings are the second Saturday at 3:00 at the Parsons Ave. Library.
Mr. Daniel Charles had complained for years about Stewart Foods and on January 19, 2006 Judge Harland Hale ordered that the market be padlock for one year because he ruled the store was a nuisance to the community.
