I think we need to make it easier for the committees -school to take the tough measures w/o all the court fees and lawyers

Dear Mary,

As I am reading Governor Carcieri's speech, it leads me to further confusion.  The state faces an economic crisis so the governor, to cut the budget, develops another political committee to study the problem.  What the governor fails to mention is the economic cost of the committee.

Just a few questions:  How many friends will the governor pay for this job?  When will the committee begin and end?   Who will be the governor meeting Carcieri's recommendations:  Patrick Lynch, Elizabeth Roberts, David Cicilline,  or Warwick Mayor Avedesian?

Last of all, if the governor is so concerned about economics, why not allow the RI General Assembly to make his job at part-time and fire several unnecessary Executive branch advisors and staff members?

Peace, Jim

Good point as they all seem to agree on diivying up the goods and Doyle wants 2 million for artificial sod at Max Reed field

Dear Jimmy,

Whomever built Max Reed field in the 1970's  proved lousy at mathematics.  A running track should be 220 meters each lap.  Unfortunately, the track is only 200 meters.  Therefore, Shea High School boys and girls track cannot use the field.

Not to be outdone seems to be the construction workers and architects who built the new Cumberland High School gym.  The running track is 210 meters per lap.  As a result, the town owns a great athletic facility that cannot be used for boys and girls indoor track.

See what happens when teachers taught the New Math of the 1950's and 1960's.

Peace, Jim
