Free Toilets Leak?

Posted in: Towne Lake Garden

Neighbors,

Did you take advantage of the SAWS free water saver toilets?

I did and had no problems for about two years until  the leak began, a constant water flow into the bowl.

I called the plumber who installed the toilets and he claims that the replacement parts are virtually no where to be found....

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Please let me know what you did to solve this, I called SAWS and needless to say : NO REPLY....

Did you try Moore Supply? I went there for a new toilet seat when my SAWS seat broke. They had all the SAWS toilets and parts and were very helpful. Hope this helps.

I am going to try Moore's Supply, in the mean time I lowered the water pressure from the shut off valve and voila it actually stopped dripping into the bowl....thanks neighbor...

If you live in San Antonio and got one of those free dual flush toilets offered by SAWS, I had a water going into the bowl from the tank after about two years after they were installed...I found that the problem is a replaceable seal (washer) that must be replaced every two years or so. I went to Moore plumbing supply expecting to pay a lot but I found out that the part was under warranty....(the part was free)...they even showed me how to replace the part myself....Yahoo.....

I did look at the caroma site on google. youtube and found an excellent  vid on how to remove the assembly and replace the seal....I hope this helps anyone who was as frustrated as I was to fix this relatively simply problem....
