Why do you always lash out in these postings calling the authors ''lady'' or ''deary'' or some other negative female form of address? It is an odd assumption.

Otherwise Occupied this Morning

On September 5 the following comment was posted:
''what in the heck does it take to pull weeds, paint curbs, wash monuments, etc. Not exactly brain surgery. Any one in this neighborhood could go out tomorrow morning all by themselves, to one planter and clean it up.''
I'm sure the writer did not really mean today, Wednesday morning. It must have been rhetorical. Sure, I could go out there and pull weeds but I'd be late for work, and risk losing my job. (It's not exactly brain surgery but it does cover the payments on my beautiful old bungalow.)

The idea of paying a service to maintain neighborhood landscaping is really great. If our volunteer work can be more effective in helping out with a fund raising event that will pay for landscape maintenance, what's the problem with that?

Then someday, if I ever run out of weeds to pull in my own yard I promise I'll wander over to one of those monuments and yank out a few. I'll admit it can be therapeutic.

There is. These two have had it out for me for quite a while. Until the CVS issue came along they could do little about it. When the CVS issue boiled up they jumped in, combined old issues with new ones, helped stir the pot, got the CVS'ers even more excited against me, and the rest is history.

I once mentioned ''IT'' in a previous posting and never got back to explaining it further. I will try to do it soon. I simply have been too busy this week making a living.

The ''IT'' has to do with Scot and Charlotte Saunders and the Traffic Committee that I started years and years ago, then turned over to Scot Saunders to run while I remained just a committee member and that Jackie Guensler now chairs. This information will tell you a little bit about the connections between the Saunders, me and Jackie.

Oh! One more thing. Gemma O'Donnell and Charlotte Saunders are very good friends if not best friends.
