Officer LeMonde, the Community Police Officer for the Old Northeast, just notified me that the robber who is knocking down women and taking their purses is continuing to strike in our neighborhood. He is described as a black male in his early 20's between 5'8'' and 6' tall (varied height descriptions) who is usually wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. He tends to strike women between 7:30-10:30 pm, just as they are getting out of their car after arriving home. At one of the last robberies, a witness chased him and saw him get into a small car. The robberies have occurred at:

360 13th Ave NE
406 10th Ave NE
955 Locust St.
1100 North Shore Dr. (attempted)

Over the past 2 weeks, they caught a person downtown and there wasn't any activity so they thought they caught the person who was doing this, but the last two locations occured on Saturday, February 22. Officer LeMonde is working on this full time until it gets resolved. If you see any suspicious activity, please call 911. Please share this information with your neighbors so that they will be alert.
