Is this the complain department?

Posted in: Historic Kenwood
I thought everyone in Kenwood gets a free newsletter? Well seems my neighbors got one but they must have forgotten someone lived at my home. I'd also like to know how a Witch like Jill Smith could get the great neighbor award? What did she share her broom with another witch in the neighborhood!

Here we go again. Thought we were all over this.

Hmmmm........

Well, it's hard to figure out how or why you got missed when we don't know who you are. I would say if your neighbor got one then yours blew away or something. It's hard when we can't put them in the mailbox.
As for your other comments, maybe you should nominate someone yourself. Try to look for the positive and comment on that. Critisism is a good thing, but what good comes from your words?

I suppose it is...

...and I just happened to pop in on this website to see your complaint about your newsletter, which I help work on...

Hello there, this is Leah,

First let me say that if you didn't receive your newsletter it was more than likely just a little mix-up and certainly not intentional. I'm sorry that you didn't get one yet. Second, I think that it is really unnecessary to bad-mouth Jill, or anyone else for that matter, like that. Very uncool. Why not contact the coordinators for newsletter distribution (that's me and Sarah Nelson). Our number is located on the newsletter every month both on the front and on the back under the BOARD MEMBERS and VOLUNTEERS NEEDED sections or we can be found in directory assistance - and we will be more than happy to ensure your newsletter gets to your home as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, since it was a holiday weekend there were some difficulties experienced with everyone getting their sections delivered in time for the monthly meeting, as well as the usual mix-ups that we run into like cross delivering areas and rain. Also, as Bill stated in his response to your post, there is a possibility that your newsletter blew away or something. We have been told not to use the mailboxes and the volunteers have to be kinda creative with where to leave the newsletters. It doesn't always run as smoothly as we would like, but we do try our best to make sure that the newsletters get out when they should and in tact. :-)

In no way is this meant to sound like I'm angry that there is a complaint, because I'm not. As one of the people who coordinates this effort, of course we need to know if there are problems with delivery. Please let us know via phone if you don't get your newsletters and also, if you have a free hour on the weekend before the regular monthly neighborhood meeting, volunteer to help us out! :-) We can always use more volunteers! Each month we need at least 20 volunteers so that no one person is asked to deliver more than 6 blocks (which happens more often than we'd prefer). There are roughly 1200 homes in Kenwood and with 20 volunteers or more per month each person gets between 4 and 6 blocks. :-) So on the first weekend of October if anyone has an hour to spare, please contact us to help deliver newsletters!

Again, I'm sorry you didn't get a newsletter - we will get one out to you as soon as we can once we know what got missed. Thanks! :-) ~Leah
