well, as it seems, we all have to shut up and let the people who chat amongst themselves take control and ''shut down'' our freedom of speech. Are we really afraid that the outside world may read mine or my buddy Jethro's messages and decide not to check out our neighborhood? Get with it!! Do people stay away from New York because of what we read in the paper, daily? Are you going to Ft. Desoto Beach this summer, or will the sting rays keep you away? How about the young man that was murdered in our neighborhood just last year, behind the sandwich shop, still go there? We all have the right to speek our minds, would we be what we are if we all kept quiet? I understand that this web page should represent the entire neighborhood, aren't we all part of it? Read back thru the recent postings, and wonder to yourself, how much of this is really the way you feel, but you are just a bit concerned about how others will feel if they knew the truth. Take this away, and again, Historic Kenwood, takes a giant step back. Further behind what we want. And yes, I do attend the meetings, but if you knew that, would any of this really matter?

I agree

Well I must admit your right about this. We should all Be able to express ourselves (within reason as to language) on this website. It probably won't hurt our image to bad since most everyone I talk to who is looking for a home knows about Kenwood and do look here. Maybe its Jethros and your style of just running down the neighborhood that grates on people. It is a long hard road to change a neighborhood from the edge of the ''dumps'' to what we have today and want tommorrow. 10 years ago it was much ,much worse than it is today thru the hard work and dedication of many, many people. Some still very active, some not, but almost all with a similar vision of what this neighborhood can become. Don't despair we will always whine and argue and discuss and whine so you and Jethro should be entertained for a long time to come.

There'll still b a HK cybergroup

Don't despair, guys (and gals)! Please, everyone, join the Historic Kenwood Yahoo e-group! I believe that all residents of Historic Kenwood can join--I know that all members of the association can, and I think any H. Kenwood resident can. You can ask Janel P. for info on how to join. I think it would be good if it were spotlighted in the newsletter, too, as an ongoing thing--just a little line or two about how to join the e-group. You can speak your mind about any issue or anything in that group!

So, all is not lost--let's keep our chins up here! I know some of ya'll really love this site. I used to as well. I already went through my ''mourning period'' for it a long time ago, so maybe that is why I've accepted it now. I look at it that it was voted on, so for my own peace of mind I need to move on along, ya know? Anyway, the e-list is through Yahoo and is a good way to stay connected with the H. Kenwood virtual/cybersurfin' set!

And also, please, everyone on this site--come to the association meetings! Since coming back to this site in the last week, I've seen many new names and each and every one of you is welcome at the meetings. All opinions, feelings, viewpoints, etc. are welcome and needed at the meetings. Sometimes we think that ''they'' should change things and we forget that, in a neighborhood, ''they'' is ''us''! As Ghandi (my hero!) said ''You must be the change you wish to see in the world.''
