  • Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor
well, here i go again.....even tho it has been quite awhile since i voiced my opinion on any matters.....there comes a time when one cannot hold it in any longer.......why, please tell me why, when one neighbor has to be the hold out when it comes to neighborhood improvement???...in this case, on our quaint street in beautiful historic kenwood, we have one lone stand-out who refuses to clean ''its'' property, repair ''its'' rotting window sills, remove trash and refuse from ''its'' vehicle, which in this case parks in front of ''its'' residence, plants cacti in the easement between sidewalk and street, only to prevent others from parking in front ''its'' area, which ''it'' claims to be the ''owner'' of....when did we become owners of the street???...sorry, kinda got carried away there, but recenty when another shabby looking home in our neighborhood was cleaned up and painted, did ''it'' call codes, the police, and stand in the street only to tell the VOLUNTEERS doing the work how bad it looked.....please tell me, what is going on....should'nt we all just be happy to see another wonderful happy home sprout from a sad unpainted dark house???and why can it be that ''it's'' home is now the eyesore on the block....and nothing has been done ......
Do what you need to.....

Oh! If only all people were what we wanted them to be. Not realistic, but maybe they just need a little push. If a house has problems, call codes. It will take time, but do it anyway. Your getting nowhere getting mad. Mention rotting sills. Mention trash. I have heard that cacti in the easment is a also a code violation. So call on that too. Trash in a vechile is harder, but the streets are public. The street in front of your house is not yours, so....

I have called codes myself(893-7373). I get frustrated too. The area seems to have hit a plateau. We just have to keep working.
