Corners

Posted in: Historic Kenwood
Well, I do this about once a year, so here goes(Hopfully there is someone out there to read this/hear me.).

IT'S TIME TO GET OUT THERE AND CLEAN YOUR CORNERS!!!(please?)

For Kenwood newbees, I'm talking about the four corners of each of our street intersections. When the wrought iron signs were put in, most of the corners recieved plantings. The city bought for us Indian Hawthorns. We agreed to plant, water and take care of them. They were a good choice as they really don't need much care once established. Once they get big enough, they all but shut out the weeds. But, as with all things, they need a little maintanance. The worst problem is the easiest to fix. The vines that can cover them. If left to grow they will choke the plantings out. But, they can be cleaned out real easy. Much easier then pulling weeds. I can't do them all(about 119 intersections) by myself. The garden club(not formed to do this) can only do a few. So, please, if you can, help. Look at ones up and down your street. Just spend a little time. They look so good when weeded and cleaned up. I just like the way they tie the whole neighborhood together. So, if you can, help YOUR neighborhood out.

Thanks!
