Hello, my name is Edna and I live in the Historic Kenwood neighborhood. For many years, I was a very active, regular Wrice Drug Marcher, both in our neighborhood marches and then in the citywide marches. I just received a heads up from someone in my 'hood about something of interest to anyone who was active in the drug marches. I called the city's Neighborhood Partnership Dept. to let 'em have it
about once AGAIN not getting the word out AGAIN about this, as I JUST found this out, and they are supposed to maintain a list of marchers that can be activated on a dime. Don't get me started on THAT. Anyway, I
spoke to a great person named Andy Garr who informed me of the following:

Tonight (Monday, 2/25/02) at 6:00 at Enoch Davis Center and also tomorrow (Tuesday, 2/26/02) at 6:00 at Enoch Davis, anyone interested in participating in drug marches needs to show up for updated training, *and this includes veteran, experienced marchers, as well*. First of all, the training has been updated, and second of all,
Mr. Garr wants experienced marchers to contribute our experiences and insights to the training process. On Tuesday night *there will be a drug march* after the training. This will take place somewhere on the south side of St. Pete, apparently. Per Mr. Garr, depending on the level of interest and participation, the citywide drug marches might be renewed at this point.

Since the ''Turn Around Tampa Bay'' mailing list has once again NOT been activated and notified of this by Susie Ahoc who is responsible for doing
that (what else is new?), please get the word out to anyone you know who would be interested in this. I know this is terribly short notice. I
myself am having to rearrange tons of plans to participate, but to me when I get a call about a Wrice March, it takes priority. Please, I encourage all neighborhood activists and other folks who care about a drug-free St. Pete to participate in this creative, non-violent, and very effective process
which weeds the drug dealers OUT of our
neighborhoods. Please turn out.
See you at Enoch Davis tonight at 6:00
p.m.!!!!!!! Northside, southside, east, or west--we can all work together to root out the drug activity/dealers wherever they pop up! For more information, please call the city's Neighborhood Partnership office at 892-5141 (Andy Garr is a wonderful person to speak with there and very knowledgeable about the Wrice process and the marches). Please get the word out to your neighborhood associations! Thanks!
