Did anyone see the headlines in today's paper about the city wanting to add part of our neighborhood to midtown? AAAAAHHHHHHRRRRRR!!!! Please, say it isn't so! We can't let that happen. Wouldn't our bid for a historic designation stop that in its tracks? Comments, EVERYONE . . .
Designation

Wether or not we become part of ''midtown'' will have nothing to do with our historic designation. It's just a marketing tool for the city. The designation is national.

?

Do you want to be part of Midtown? We're working hard to keep our neighborhood from becoming just like it.
Not a real problem

You don't want our area to get like them, but what if we can help them to get more like us. If ''midtown'' gets better it will only increase our values.
The whole idea is to get the demographics to look better for investers. If new businesses move in, all the better. If 22nd.St returns to glory, it will help not just us, but the whole city. Our biggest problem now is how close we are to the ''Southside''. If that problem goes away, the sky is the limit. My only problem is the politicking that goes on. If a new business moves into our area, the city can take credit for it as a new ''midtown'' addition, when maybe they did nothing to help the area.
Historic Kenwood will be Historic Kenwood(historic designation and all) no matter what else we are a part of or what thay call it.
