What About Respect

What about a little respect for the rest of this neighborhood from the folks that own that house? This neighborhood is a very special place.A renewed sense of ''community'' has developed. During the last few years, many houses and properties in this southern end of the North Shore neighborhood have been remodled. New apartments have gone up and etc. The effort to create something very special here in this historic neighborhood has been seen and felt by many. In due time, this neighborhood will be designated a historic area. Codes will change. Architecural standards will be adopted and hopefully more and more people will develop a sesnse of respect for our neighborhood. IN THE MEANTIME, when someone paints their house those (over the top) colors, it seems to say (very loudly) that they have no respect for their neighbors;that they don't care about the efforts that others have put into their homes. NO ONE can tell me that those folks were not aware that their colors were not just individual taste, but over the top and would most likely be a topic of controversy. I have to look at it every day. I will be that those respondents to this board who think it is ok don't live any where nearby. Imagine if you will, if every third house on our block was painted like that. Then would it be ok?
Miss the Point

You make mny good observations and sorry you have to look at the fire engine red and orangr/yellow colors. BUT the point here is that the owner is not mentally put together like most of us and that is sad. There appears to be no malice intended. This is not even a case of ''bad:'' taste but more a case of dementia of sorts. Be patient, time is on your side and not on the owners.

What about the purple & lime house up for sale? What about the white with fire engine red trim on 14th? And on and on. This is no deed restrictd community for sure and color will not be dictated
by historic designation.
