How does everyone like the area.

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
We are considering a relocation to the North Shore area, and I was wondering how everyone feels about the neighborhood. Is it safe? Does it have a good sense of community? Are the people friendly? You know the basics.... I grew up in Woodlawn, but it has been 20 years since I lived in there. We live in Atlanta now and will possibly be relocating soon. We are very interested in being an active part of a neighborhood. Your feed back is very much appreciated. We are also a Family with young children, so if you know what the schools are like that would be helpful as well. Thanks in advance....

neighborhood's great

If you have not seen North Shore or Old Northeast for twenty years, you are in for a very pleasant surprise ! Restorations are underway throughout the neighborhood, there are again loads of families, and the streets are safe to
stroll. The charm has really returned.

As for schools- it is all a mess right now, all through the county. Children are zoned and bused on a rotating schedule right now but that will change
to a choice plan in about three years.
There are excellent public magnet schools (entered by lottery pick) at the elementary, middle, & high school levels. St. Pete High was just ranked one of the best high schools in the country. Many private schools are nearby, too.

Welcome back to St. Petersburg, hope you choose Old Northeast !
