NDR Committee Votes NO !

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
The NSNA Neighborhood Design Review Committee, after three meetings with the
developer & reps from CVS Drugstores, has voted overwhelmingly against the project (19 to 3). This means that the committee will recommend to the general membership that they vote against the rezoning of the properties needed to put together enough land for the development. It is VERY IMPORTANT for all interested parties to attend the general membership meeting scheduled for June 13- a TUESDAY- 6:30 pm at the Sunshine Center.
Attorney for CVS insults

At the NDR meeting tonight, the attorney for CVS got VERY angry and insulted individuals who oppose the project. For those of us who might have been willing to listen and felt neutral about the issue, this was alarming.

For a professional to call residents
stupid (in much more insulting terms) and other ridiculous, insulting names is just unacceptable. This is the "gentleman" who is representing the developer/drugstore chain. After such outrageous behavior, which was unprovoked, why was he not called on the carpet by his employers (CVS) on the spot. Is this how CVS views the residents of North Shore? If so, why would we ever support their requests for rezoning and variances?

I have attended many public meetings in my life, but rarely, if ever, have I seen a person be so unprofessional when working in a professional capacity. It was an outrage !
the powers that be....

yes- and don't forget that we (North Shore) have "no rights" to deny the Landowner use of his land "like is being done everywhere else in the City."

What- we as homeowners have no property rights? What about the right to reside in our residentially zoned homes and enjoy peace and quiet without 900 visits per day going on across the street !

UNBELIEVABLE !

this whole process has sunk to a new low. not only the unbelievable behavior by the developers attorney but also the fact that after 19 people (most of the people in the room) voted AGAINST the
zoning change, the acting association president, STEVE LANGE, voted FOR approval along with only two other people- those other two people own property which will part of the CVS development-------- so how does the acting president represent the people of the neighborhood ?
