Beautification Chaired by Cynthia Serra, this committee plans and implements landscaping improvements and is responsible for organization and oversight of landscaping and monument maintenance. Has implemented ''Adopt and Island Program.'' Call Cynthia to join, about meetings, or to Adopt an Island as a family or business project.
Codes New Codes Chair to be selected, and we are in need of members to do an annual walking review of the neighborhood, establishing list of priority properties, review City notices of Codes activities, develop relationships with property owners, and working with City Codes Enforcement to improve our neighborhood. Crime Chair Jackie Guensler, 894-8292, is looking for a co-chair and members. While crime is reported by members on surveys to be in the top 2 concerns you have about our neighborhod, we have no committee members and we have grant money in our budget to utilize on crime prevention. Call Jackie.
Membership Chaired by Roxanne Krauss, 864-5606, and looking for a co-chair, this committee works to welcome new neighbors, to encourage NSNA membership retention and involvement, and to recruit new members. Call Roxanne to join and for meeting information.
Neighborhood Design Review Chaired by Steve Kipp, 827-5018, this committee reviews City notices of residential and commercial rehabilitation, redevelopment and development projects and convenes NDR meetings to review projects according to our NDR Ordinance and to make recommendations to the City. This committee's work is critical to preserving the historic character of our neighborhood and protecting its value. Thanks to Suzanne Charneski, Jim Martin, and Richard Haight for joining. Neighborhood Plan Committee Chaired by Mary Alice Lange, 823-4501, this committee is responsible for increasing neighborhood awareness understanding of our Neighborhood Plan and for organizing and overseeing efforts to revise the Plan. Members are Claude Arnould, Alona Dishy, Carey Fox, Kate Hawk, Susan Rebillot, Wayne Smith. Call Mary Alice to join or for information.
Special Events Committee Chaired by Steve Deal, 822-6982, and looking for a co-chair, this committee plans fund-raising events, such as the Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes. Steve wants to plan a inaugral Spring Garden Tour. Call Steve to join and for a meeting date to review the Candlelight Tour outcome. This is our largest committee--the more, the merrier!
Traffic Calming Chaired by Jackie Guensler, this committee addresses neighborhood concerns about traffic and parking, builds consensus, develops plans, and sees plans through City processes to implementation. Looking for a co-chair to groom for assuming leadership. Ken Guckenberger, 894-8103, chairs the CVS subcommittee. Thanks to Jim Martin, Ed Caldwell, Barb Spofford, Gerry Whitt, Will Goetze, Julie Turner, Rob Wertz, Mike Dailey, and any other members of this committee/subcommittee. Traffic and parking concerns are high on neighbor's lists of concerns, so join and call Jackie to volunteer and to get meeting information.
Council of Neighborhood Associations, City Team, and Fourth Street Business Association NSNA President Susan Rebillot will represent NSNA with these groups and will select additional people to serve as representatives as well so that responsibilities are shared and we are always preparing others to serve.
