OUTHOUSE ON COFFEE POT!!??

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
What is that new building along Coffee Pot at a new dock by the Granada Pergola?

I am sure the intent is ''security'', but it looks like an UNPAINTED OUTHOUSE on our beautiful waterfront!

Any regulations (zoning?)on this type of construction? Could'nt a locked gate have sufficed - like everyone else?

Zoning committee please investigate and respond!

The City's Development Review Services Division (DRS) said that depending on what has been built, it may, in fact, be a violation. The zoning regulations pertaining to docks are contained in Chapter 16 of the City Code and are administered by DRS. However, DRS said that you should first contact the Codes Compliance Assistance Department. Maureen Barnes is the Codes Compliance Officer for the Old Northeast and her number is 892-5163. DRS said that if a violation is found, the owner will be cited and will have the option of either removing the structure or requesting a variance(s)through DRS. Maureen and her supervisor, Mike Vold, will be speaking on Codes Compliance at our next general membership meeting on Monday, January 20 at 7:00 pm at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. However, if you wish to register a complaint on this, please do so by calling her office.
