I have received several calls lately about crime intruding further into the interior of the neighborhood. I have passed this information on to Jacques LaMonde, our CPO. He will be giving a report at the general membership meeting tonight,
September 18.

I appreciate the calls and emails, since we have been unable to put an active, organized Crime Watch Program into place. Here are some tips to help with crime prevention:

* be observant- watch your street and call the police whenever you see suspicious activity
* be sure the area around your home is well lit
* trim bushes & landscaping which
might obscure the view of someone who may attempt to break into your home
* make your home look occupied at all times, whether you are home or away
* lock your vehicles, your home & your garage at all times
* when out walking or jogging be aware of your surroundings- avoid alleys or dark areas if you are alone

I would like to take this opportunity to thank some of our neighbors who help with crime watch: Mark, Bruce,
Connie, Jackie L., Arlene, Amy, John, & Claude.

Yet an other crime to report !

Like most of us my neighborbors on 15 Ave NE kept their car registration documents in their cars , further more they kept their car in a garage. Well this morning their garage door was open and the registration of both of their cars gone. After reporting the theft to the police ,the fraud department informed them that this theft is related to somebody trying to steal their identity to open a charge account for exemple. The advise : the fraud department gave 3 credit reporting companies that must be contacted immidiatly to stop any issuance of credit without calling for a check.
The same crime happened recently on the next Ave so watch out .
Thanks

Thank you ,jackie, for all your hard work.

car registration papers

It is safest to keep your car registration papers in your wallet or on your person------ never leave them in your vehicle where they can be stolen (and you may not realize it.)

From the information printed on your vehicle registration, thieves are able to access other information about you. They are then able to compile the information to obtain credit cards,
loans, etc.

The results of having a scam run with your credit can be a nightmare to straighten out. So please, do not leave your vehicle registration, or any identification, where it can be stolen easily by thieves.
