dent-Elect. The first issue decided by the NSNA Board on Aug. 14 was the procedure for determining how to fill the vacant President Elect position. This position was vacated when the Board removed Steve Lange at the July 3 Special Board Meeting, which was held in response to a majority vote at the June 19 Membership Meeting requesting his removal.

While the Board has the authority, according to By-Laws and Articles of incorporation, to remove any officer or to fill any position, the Board felt it is in the best interests of the NSNA to ask the Membership to make this decision. Greg Burton proposed and Lane Lastinger formulated the motion that the Membership be advised at the Sept. meeting that a Membership vote will be taken at the October meeting as to whether the Membership affirms that they want Mr. Lange to ascend to the position of President in Jan. 2001 in keeping with the previous vote in 2000 in spite of his removal from the President Elect position; or whether they want to elect a new President Elect by special election in November who will then assume the position of President for 2001. Any person who meets the qualifications set forward in the By-Laws would be eligible for nomination.

If the membership votes to affirm Steve Lange as President in 2001, then the matter will be closed. If the vote is to elect a new President Elect, then Steve Lange may continue on the Board, and one Board member will resign to allow for a new President Elect (the Board may not exceed 11 members).

Additional postings will be provided to summarize other issues covered at the Aug. 14 Board Meeting.
Vote????

As I again informed the board on Monday, August 14, I and those North Shore members who choose to call a Special General Memebership meeting in the near future will do so.

Our schedule and our motives and our planning have nothing to do with you or the board.

Your statement that ''then the matter will be closed'' is not only not true it is feeble.

The matter will not be closed until the meeting that I have informed the board about since July 3, is held.

Your pre-emptive actions are motived by my actions. Your attempt to short circuit my Special General Memebership meeting means nothing.

Do you really think that rounding up the same thirty one people to repeat the previous vote is a fair or rightious act. I don't think so.

You go right ahead and have your meeting and your vote. We will just keep on keeping on.

Since time is short this evening, I will write more about this subject later.

Sounds Fair

This sounds to me like a more than fair and open process to solve the current dilemma. I applaud the maturity of the board.
