Museum of Fine Arts Expansion

We are concerned about the size and location of the proposed Museum of Fine Arts expansion. We are interested in your thoughts

It was my understanding that the property that is being used for the expansion belongs to the Museum. Is that true?

Likewise, I thought the the addition was going to follow the form and architectural style of the existing building. Is that true?

Does anyone know these answers?

There was an article a few weeks ago in the TIMES detailing the expansion, which will allow the exhibition of more of the permanent collection. I do recall some concerns by some regarding view obstruction nad extension into North Straub Park?? Maybe John and Marty will write again and detail their concerns. I encourage others to support the Fine Arts Museum--its a fine museum, hosts great exhibitions (did you see the Croatian Art exhibit?), and hosts alot of very enjoyable special events. The Sunday afternoon concerts are terrific.

The museum is within the boundaries of the North Downtown Neighborhood Organization (NODO).
They are not on Neighborhood Link but the city neighborhood office should know how to contact them.
Tim Baker is a very active member of that association. Also, your email address, as listed here, is incorrect; the mail gets returned. Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of North Shore.
