Home owner's Insurance

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
I've been shopping around trying to find a new insurance company. Due to my home's ''historic'' age and proximity to the water, I can't seem to find any companies willing to cover me.

With all the beautiful homes in the neighborhood, I'm sure people are insured.

Can anyone recommend a good insurance company for homeowner's insurance? Several for price comparison would be preferred.

Many Thanks!
Got a recent quote

I just got commitment for coverage on a 20s home in Old NE from Kathy Kyle at Allstate through a company called American Strategic--however, we're not in a flood zone, so who knows if they will write fo you. Her number is 535-4604. Good Luck!
Had success with ...

In 1996, insurance was still pretty tough in the post-Andrew era. We found coverage with Cincinati Insurance through broker Carlisle Fields.

But we're not in a flood zone either and our home was updated from knob-and-tube electical. Good luck.
ASI

Yes, try ASI (American Strategic). I go thru AAA, Dennis Doherty 398-3120. They will also write a floor policy, I have one.
