Common Courtesy and Road Rage

Posted in: Historic Old Northeast
Today, on 9th Ave N, I had the joy of experiencing the true road rage of the neighborhood. I was sandwiched between two cars, one behind me and one heading toward me, with nowhere to pull over. THe car behind me wouldn't back up and the car headed towards me decided that he was just going to keep going until I either backed up or he hit me. Then he decided to yell at me.

I am always courteous and pull over for people heading the opposite direction in our tiny streets, and I have found that most people do the same. I was absolutely shocked to have received this kind of bullying from a neighbor.

The message here is please, if someone is blocking your way, at least give them time to get out of your way. There was nowhere for me to go, and no room for me to pullover. Perhaps the driver didn't see that there was a car behind me, but he never should have sped up towards me, seeing that I wasn't moving.

I'm hoping this won't happen again, but I know people get frustrated when the streets get hard to maneuver. I just want to make sure that what happened to me doesn't happen to anyone else.
