vigilantism?
thanx, Peter; I was wondering if I was the only one having a problem with ''drug marches.'' I asked at the CONA mtg when they were proposed why police don't take action against known drug houses; the ONLY response was widespread laughter. And if the house is not constitutionally known to be a source of illegal activity, then the drug march seems to me a lot like mob harassment. The SP Times also didn't see fit to print my letter raising the same question. By their own admission, drug marchers hope to accomplish no more than forcing ''drug dealers'' to move to another neighborhood. How is that good for our city? Glad I'm not trying to get a sick child to sleep while the mob is outside yelling and screaming! Seems like a cheap trick to me to pretend the city is doing something, when it should be providing treatment facilities. The only way to stop drug dealing is to dry up the user market--AND create REAL jobs.
