To ensure our community thrives, Stone Mill created a maintenance corporation, which meets once a month to discuss various community issues, as needed. Discussions include landscaping lawn care, snow removal, litter & pet waste removal, wet & dry pond maintenance, etc. The Board is comprised of 7 positions - a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Clerk, and two Architectural Reviewers. The board members are elected once a year at the annual year-end community meeting. (Currently, several board positions are open and need to be filled - please call or email the board your contact information.)
It is our goal as a Board to keep the community a beautiful place to live, and we encourage community feedback and participation. At least twice a year, a community meeting is put together so that each voice may be heard. We encourage each member of our community to attend the meetings to give us feedback and input as to how to serve you and better our community. If you have suggestions or concerns, don't wait for our community meetings. Contact any of the Board members and get involved. This is not just our community, it is YOUR community too, and we want to hear from you!
To allow the maintenance corporation to function, the members of the community are required to pay an annual assessment, and for 2015 it is only $253.00. This assessment remains as low as possible, but is necessary to pay the vendors used by the community and is subject to increase. The fee is billed yearly by the New Castle County Finance Division. An annual budget is approved by the community and all financial information is provided to the community to allow for analysis and comments by all. For those that fail to timely pay this fee, a one-time late fee of $25. The Board then submits the homeowner's delinquent information to the community's attorney, and a lien is placed against their property for unpaid HOA fees.
