It was announced by Alderman Murphy last night that the old Chicks Grocery Building at 3928 W. St Paul/404 N. 40th Street was fined $3900. by City of in Milwaukee Municipal Court. The owner will be charged for monthly building inspections and currently has almost 40 violations on it. He is delinquent on property taxes and has special fees assessed like water, etc. in the thousands of dollars.
If anyone has any problems with the property please contact Alderman Murphy or the Department of Neighborhood Services. The latest problem was a piece of the building raining down on a neighbor walking by it. Luckily no one was hurt, just ticked off.

Glad to hear the city is FINALLY clamping down on that place and it's owner. It is the biggest eyesore in the neighborhood.

It's shameful that the owner, someone who is 3rd generation to the neighborhood and owns the propety on the opposite corner is so arrogant about this property and the surrounding neighbors that he thinks he is above the law as to taking care of business with his property. Maybe now he will get a clue.
