keep SV Police

Most respectfully to all concerned, keeping our SV Police is the main reason to remain incorporated in my opinon. Our police help keep us safer as crime increases all around us. Double coverage may be necessary. Keeping our police cars cruising and available 24/7 is more important than picnics, yard sales, stone posts and even trees and sidewalks, even though those thing make our community most enjoyable and should continue if possible.

The cost would even be worth a tax increase if that really is the only reason for the increase. I could not help but notice my assessment went up. Others have as well. All extra funds should go to keep the police if necessary.

Our mayor will be giving us an opportunity to speak our minds. We should be greatful for this opportunity and give her a mandate to do whatever is necessary to keep up our level of safety.
DJ Reynolds

The resignation of DJ Reynolds is a disaster for the city of Stathmoor Village. DJ did so much for the Village and is a great person. Please Mayor and Board do all you can to get him back.

think before you speak

Next time you decide to say something, don't. If you did any research before sending your gossip message, you would find that the SVPD DOES NOT save us $20,000 a year. It cost us more and for what, to talk to the lonely neighbors around here. D.J was nice, but he was the biggest chicken I knew. If we have a police department I atleast want someone who can act like a police officer. As a matter of fact, it would be better not having a police department because then we could spend all the money we pay them, on something everyone can enjoy, like a decent menu at the picnic instead of those disgusting veggie burgers and Kingsley Meats. So, SRS, next time don't make yourself look like an idiot by trying to act like you know what you're talking about, because you don't.

Are you serious?

Talk about thinking before you speak! Are you seriously comparing our police protection and the safety of our citizens to the food we have at the picnic?!! You are disputing the $20,000 a year savings, yet you cite nothing to support your claim. So your argument is no more valid than SRS's. In what way would you rather have D.J. act more like a police officer? Shooting people 7 times over a stop sign like what happens in J-Town? Or harrassing innocent civilians like the Metro Police often do? Watch out, by the way ... the Metro Police have been running around giving parking tickets within S.V. for stupid little infractions. You say something about D.J. talking to lonely citizens like it's a bad thing. I'd rather have a police chief who looks out for our elderly citizens or patrols your house, because he knows you are on vacation. Do you think you are going to get that kind of service from the Metro cops? Our city was such a nice, peaceful place before the last election. Now it's being run into the ground. Thank goodness we still have some commisioners with some sanity.
