Has anyone in SP noticed an increase of racoons in our neighborhood? Anyone having problems with this little varmits in their yards? Inquiring minds want to know.....so share your stories.
They're here!

A house on our street has had 5 racoons living in their chimney (no chimney cap). They're cute as can be perched on top that chimney in the late evening.....but they're messy, they smell, they ruined the grass digging for grubs and they're fairly ''civilized'' which is a little scary. Two of these guys have been caught and sent to a much better home in their natural habitat. Three continue to wander the neighborhood.

Letting You Know......

With these raccoons running loose in our neighborhood, we thought we should provide a little info on what to do if you're not interested in living with them. We have posted a special information page on the main page of this web site with information, contact numbers and general information.

Critters

The raccoon story was a new one on me. I would not like to have three raccoons on my back fence. I have seen the damage that they can do to a house as well as their messes around camp sites. One scratched a hole in the roof of a house at Camp Kickapoo. After getting in, he could not remember how to get out and panicked. It tore up every room in the house. It has taken years to repair everything.
