Hi to all our neighbors,

As the new ACC (Architectural Control Committee) we would like to explain a few things. All of us volunteered for this post and have gotten involved because we care about our neighborhood. Any of you can volunteer as well. This position is probably the toughest of all of the Homeowner?’s Association roles because we have to sometimes render decisions that are not necessarily popular to the individual homeowner who is requesting something. As a committee, we will always try to use the covenants when they are clear, and basic common sense when there are interpretations to be made. The hard part is the interpretation that satisfies all parties involved. One person?’s good taste may differ from another?’s good taste. For instance, one person may feel that purple shutters on their house are beautiful. If you are next door, you may not feel the same way. The purpose of any decision made is to keep up the value of the neighborhood as a whole. Sometimes as individuals we overlook this fact because we feel that we have the right to do whatever we would like to our own property. And there are individual properties that aren?’t in developments and don?’t have homeowners associations where you can do whatever your heart desires. I assume that all of us moved into a neighborhood like this for the very reason of some regulation and upkeep standards. All homeowners can save themselves headaches by reviewing the covenants prior to submission of any changes to their property. If there are differences of opinion we will weigh all sides before rendering a majority decision. Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts.
