Summerfield HOA

Regarding the ballot received February 2015.

Any visitor or realtor will tell you that the Summerfield Neighborhood Main Entrance is the First Entrance at the intersection of Deatsville Highway and Summerfield Drive.

You just don’t drive past it looking for a secondary entrance, it is the Main Entrance.

It is the first entrance anyone comes to.  It is also not well lit.  So no I do not support paying for the 2^nd entrance to be lit, when no one is paying for the 1^st real entrance to be lit.

When people miss our unlit entrance, they slam on the brakes & could get rear ended, which is a lot worse that a sign getting hit at the 2nd entrance.

We regret that you will not sign off on approval of lighting for the Sunset entrance.  Whether or not it is the main entrance is really irrelevant (although it is the entrance with the highest traffic count and an island that is rather difficult to see at night).  All entrances entertaining residential traffic are important, and in due course ALL of them will be upgraded and or refurbished as necessary and with membership approval.

Residents rarely miss the entrance they intend and non-residents or those unfamiliar with the neighborhood will enter the one they can most readily see.  Initially, that will be the Sunset entance from which all other neighborhood streets are most readily accessed.
