Suncrest Villas West Neighbors

There will be a CERT training coming up in May.  The class consist of three (3) Saturday's in a row, and attendees must commit to all three Saturdays.

The dates are May 3, 10, and 17 and the times are 0830 to 1630 on the first two Saturdays and 0830 to noonish on the last Saturday.  Most likely the training will be at the fire station at 35 ave and Beardsley.

We have eleven (11) people so far and need 15 at least to put the training on.

CERT is Community Emergency Response Team. The beginning is an approximately 21 hour training session in which participants are trained to take care of themselves, their family and neighborhood in the case of a major disaster. This is the type   of disaster in which police, fire, and other public safety and medical personnel are not able or available to respond to your needs or those of the neighborhood. Training is given in basic first aid, putting out a small fire, basic search and rescue and in being prepared by making your own home safe before a catastrophe occurs. The program is under FEMA.
