Hillsborough County Animal Services will investigate cases of dangerous dogs, and animals who create a nuisance.
Before reporting the animal to the agency, you should attempt to contact the animal owner(s) to attempt resolution. If that fails to correct the problem you should attempt complaint resolution through Mediation and Diversion Services at 272-5642.
After you have taken these steps, contact Animal Services to get a nuisance affidavit. This affidavit must be signed by two or more residents of Hillsborough County who live in separate dwellings who are experiencing the same nuisance problem. The affidavit will need to be notarized, which can be done for free at Animal Services.
An Animal Services officer will investigate the complaint. If the problem persists, it may issue a civil citation to the owner(s).
Wild, and exotic animal nuisance reports should be referred to the State of Florida's Game and Freshwater Fish Commission at (941) 648-3200.
For more information, call Animal Services at 744-5660. The office is located at 440 Falkenburg Road, Tampa, Florida.
