We are renters and unfortunately were were not told about the HOA or the CC&Rs before we moved in.  Believe me, if I HAD known, I would never have moved here! as far as outside activities, I am a single Mom and can barely afford to keep my kids in one activity each. Not  to mention the time constraints of working forty hours a week. Now, as far as kids destroying property...I was a home owner, prior to moving here. I will have you know that I take pride in ANYWHERE I live.  Just because I let my kids be kids and build forts or climb trees (which is something most all children do or have done) does not mean I or my children disrespect our surroundings.  Children need a safe environment to play.  Our community is just that.  I have tried to abide by the rules, but I will NOT lock my kids in the house!  If one of you would like to pay for me to move, I would be more than happy to do so. So until a time comes that I can move, my children will continue to play outside, ride their bikes and be NORMAL children! I could really care less what either of you think of me personally. I can and will do what is within my power tto make sure my kids dont become couch potatos and video game addicts.  Write me up, fine me...make my life miserable...i dont care. My kids deserve to have a childhood and be just what they are!  KIDS!!!!!

You are a very poor role model as a parent. You decided to rent in a HOA Community and did not research the rules. It was your responsibility to do this and due to your lack of maturity or being naive, was not educated of the rules.

So, now due to your poor judgement, instead of following the rules of our community you elect to teach your children to just ignore the rules and do whatever you want. Great parenting, SHAME ON YOU!

Instead of holding yourself accountable for not investigating the rules before moving into the HOA, You expect others to fix your problem?

I also am a single parent with limited funds but I respect the community, my neighbors and the Rules that make this community safe, peaceful and landscaped.

Unfortunately, you had your children and it is YOUR responsibility to take care of them and guide them to become normal productive adults.

Trying to justify breaking the rules because of your personal problems is unhealthy for your children and ridiculously illogical.

It is the landlords responsibility to provide you with the rules and he will be the person who gets fined. The proper recourse for you would be to sue your landlord and use that money to leave since you do not approve of the rules.

Riding Bikes or playing on these streets is dangerous and unsafe. Streets in this complex were not designed for that use and children have been seriously injured in the past colliding with cars.

You display a typical Renter's attitude who has NO FINANCIAL interest in the Home Owners Association by your own ignorant statement" I DON'T CARE". In fact, if your child does get injured, You would be the first one to sue the HOA for his injuries because the rules were not enforced. By the way, let me educate you, Per the Davis and Sterling Act it is unlawful for the SKTOA Board Members not to enforce the CCR'S and Rules and Regulations.

I need to remind you that you are a renter with zero influence in regards to the rules and are required to obey them like everyone else.

Lastly, yes your children deserve a childhood but that is your responsibility not this Private Communities.

If I could afford an attorney, I would sue the property management company that rent me this townhome, as I was not even told this was an HOA. I would like to know just how old your children are.  Because I know most of the parents that do have young children in the community and they all feel the same.  I am doing research on SKTOA with a realtor friend who can pull county records...i have a theory...I wonder if the cc&r's weren't written for a retirement community??  It would be one thing if the kids had a place to play.  We went 5 years without the pool...now that its too cold for the pool, the courts are now off limits.   I think the HOA is doing this purposely to try to get rid of the families with children, or at least discourage others from moving in.

Your personal attacks have no place on this blog, nor do your comments. I asked for help with my situation in hopes of an attorney reading it and helping me.  your harrassment and attacks are just that. please leave me and my children alone.

You just do not get it!

This is a homeowners association not a renters association.

The CCR'S that you think are irrelevant,  are typical Home Owner Association CCR's acceptable nation wide.

It is like you have not read anything that I posted.

This is a Private Community that consists of 144 Home Owners. The rules are what the Home Owners want enforced.

I have not personally attacked nor harassed you in any way, I just stated the facts. You obviously are not living in reality and just want things your way, like many inmates in jail that do not like to follow societies rules.

The sad thing is your children are learning to disrespect the rules if they do not like them. You do not need a lawyer, help yourself and take your property manager to small claims court.

Be a good neighbor and follow the rules like your parents taught you!
