Safety when walking

Posted in: Superstition Foothills
Please remember safety issues when walking especially when it is dusk/dark. There are several people who walk IN the roads and are wearing dark clothes without reflective markings. Please be aware that even if a car is going the speed limit or even under the limit, it DOES NOT mean the driver can see you! Moving to the sidewalk when a car approaches might avoid a tragic event. Think safety when outside!

There are also people that drive excessively fast through the neighborhood and don't pay attention because they are on their own street. My wife and I were walking one night when a car sped around the corner into the opposite lane and almost hit us. This guy was way over the limit and out of his travel lane. Then he stopped and yelled at us to ''GET A LIGHT!'' We just laughed at him. Thinking safety applies to drivers as well. This is a residential area. Slow down, and for God's sake, stop at the stop signs. Stop means stop, even on your own road. Yes, I'm talking to you, Gateway and Arroyo Vista residents.
